Gilders Paste is made of highly concentrated metallic and organic pigments blended with a wax base used to color and highlight features of indoor and outdoors environment with little or no surface preparation. Gilders Paste colors can be layered on top of one another or blended to create endless color palette and different finishes that will not fade. Gilders Paste has enhanced color tint retention capability due to its strong resistance to water and other common chemical reagents. Gilders Paste has been used even on rust spots and neither rain nor sun has altered the color that has been applied. | |

Gilders Paste can be applied to any medium like wrought iron, steel, aluminum, alloys, railings, furniture, gilding restoration, picture frames, miter joints, ceramics, terra cotta, resin castings, plastic, wax candles, gourd, moldings, frames, wood, kiln-fired clays, plaster, stone, paper, canvas, leather or any such surface. The beautiful glowing metallic or vivid jewel-like color tones of Gilders paste will transform your artwork into a beautiful decorative piece with a dazzling finish. | |

Apply with finger, brush, sponge, cloth, or almost anything. If the highly concentrated paste needs to be thinned and used similar to paint we recommend you dilute it with a suitable paint thinner. Polishing lightly with a soft cloth after drying will produce a dazzling finish. Gilders Paste can be over coated with a clear lacquer, varnish, urethane or powder coating to achieve a more uniform appearance. For very smooth surfaces, like gloss paint, plastic, ceramics and furniture, it is recommended to lightly abrade the surface with 0000 grade steel wool or fine sand paper or apply a recommended primer. | |

The ability to fix any mistake makes Gilders Paste so versatile. Simply use a bit of paint thinner on the corner of a piece of cloth or a cotton bud to clean off your errors! This way of correcting errors works best when you have just applied the paste. After several hours it takes a lot longer to "clean" as the paste sticks very firmly to the medium. Be careful not to use too much paint thinner as this can cause the paste to run though. | |

Specifications
|
Gilders Paste’s drying time can vary depending on substrate and surface preparation. Treated surfaces touch dry within 30 to 60 minutes. Do allow at least 12 hours before installing or polishing. Once the paste is dry, the colored surfaces are durable and water repellant. |
