| Primers & Thinners: Primers |
A primer is a preparatory coating put on the surface before painting. Uneven surfaces reduce the paint’s ability to set effectively. Priming levels the surface, fills the cracks and holes and ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface. Good quality primer increases the durability of the paint and thereby drastically reduces the repainting and maintenance costs.

Primer also provides additional protection against rusting. Professional metal & corrosion experts worldwide agree that proper surface preparation by permanent separation of water & oxygen from the metalwork is the only way to prevent corrosion due to rusting. A primer designed for metal is different from other primers. Metal primers that are scientifically formulated and tested stand the test of time and fights against toughest chemicals separating metal from oxygen in fighting against corrosion. Poor quality primer gives in to aqueous chemicals and once water seeps through to the bare metal, oxidation will begin (plain iron will simply corrode due to rust).
